SEASON AT A GLANCE: Hoover, who plays wide receiver and defensive back, was having a quiet season until recently. His improved play has mirrored that of his team. The 6-foot, 180-pounder set two school records last week for Thousand Oaks, which has won three consecutive games after losing its first five.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Hoover set a school record with three touchdown receptions in a 33-21 nonleague victory over San Luis Obispo, the Southern Section Division IV runner-up last season. Hoover, who scored on pass plays of 43, 53 and 22 yards from Ben Olson, also scored on a 96-yard kickoff return, the longest in Thousand Oaks history, to clinch the victory.
