Group Adds to Its Stake in West Coast Bancorp

A group including Western Acquisition Partners LP disclosed Monday that it has increased its stake in West Coast Bancorp, the Tustin holding company for Sunwest Bank, to 19.1%.
The group said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it beneficially holds nearly 1.8 million shares of West Coast stock after buying 988,090 shares from Sept. 29 to Oct. 20 for a total price of $851,632.
The group reported in January 1997 that it had an 8.09% stake in the company.
