7 TONIGHT IRVINE HIGH
Woodbridge has lost four of its last five games, but an upset here could go a long way toward a playoff berth. To do that, the Warriors must find some offense--they have scored 14 points or fewer in five games, and have scored only 10 points on four occasions. That won’t get it done against Newport Harbor. Since Chris Manderino moved from quarterback to tailback, the Sailors have been held to less than 23 points only once--against fifth-ranked Irvine. Manderino, in 5 1/2 games at tailback, has rushed for 1,069 yards, the county’s fourth-highest total, and 13 touchdowns.
