YORBA LINDA
About 5,000 people are expected to take part in the 33rd annual Fiesta Days Parade beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Yorba Linda Middle School on Casa Loma Avenue. This year’s route will proceed from the school to Yorba Linda Boulevard, then continue west past the parking lot of the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace. A street fair, featuring food and live entertainment, will be held after the parade from noon to 3 p.m. at the Nixon library.
The annual parade and street fair are put on by the Yorba Linda Service League, a group of women who volunteer their time to benefit the community. Event coordinator Jean Underwood said the group only has about 15 members now, but students often help out in planning the parade and fair to fulfill their community service requirements for graduation.
The theme for this year’s festivities is “Make ‘em Laugh.â€
