The holiday comedy “Accommodations†by Bert Bumgarner opens Friday evening at the Granada Theatre in Granada Hills. This quirky Christmas story--featuring unexpected relatives, obnoxious neighbors and a nun with a busload of children stranded by a winter storm--runs through Dec. 17.

Holiday Concert

The Glendale Symphony Orchestra will give its annual holiday concert Saturday night at the Alex Theatre. The ensemble will perform works by Bach, Rachmaninoff, Mendelssohn and Haydn. Fifteen-year-old violin prodigy Howard Zhang will be featured on Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, Opus 64.

Celtic Sounds

Celeste Howard and the musical ensemble Celtic Legend will perform Sunday in North Hollywood. Howard sings and plays original and traditional Celtic music on the harmonium and the bowed psaltery, an ancient-style harp played with two bows. Howard will perform selections from her CD “Celtic Blessings,†which is inspired by Arthurian and Celtic stories, as well as contemporary artists such as Loreena McKennitt and Enya.

Choral Music

The Burbank Chorale will give its annual holiday concert Sunday at Forest Lawn. Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols†and other holiday songs will be featured in the program culminating in the chorale’s annual audience sing-along. The Burbank Chorale is the Valley’s oldest performing-arts organization. Founded in 1920, the chorale is celebrating its 80th anniversary. This concert is new director Misha Shtangrud’s first with the ensemble.
