Mira Costa 11, Crescenta Valley 9--The Falcons led, 4-2, midway through the second quarter, but Mira Costa responded with six unanswered goals to take control in a semifinal at Loyola Marymount.
Third-seeded Crescenta Valley (23-5) went 12:15 without scoring.
No. 2-seeded Mira Costa plays Upland in Tuesday’s title match at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.
Tyler Krekorian scored five goals, the last giving Mira Costa (21-7) an 11-6 lead with 2:44 remaining.
Daniel Besedick scored once and Ted Kim added two goals in a 34-second span to close the gap for the Falcons.
Kim and David Mulcahey each scored three goals for Crescenta Valley. Mike Hoy made 14 saves for the Falcons, who reached the semifinals for the third time in four years.
