The city will hold a community forum tonight at the Edison Community Center, 21377 Magnolia Ave., to discuss a southeast coastal redevelopment plan meant to rehabilitate a large parcel of land near the beach.
City officials will discuss possible plans for the 266 acres between Beach Boulevard and Magnolia Street, just east of Pacific Coast Highway, as well as address the concerns of nearby residents.
The land is home to the Ascon dump site, empty oil tanks and the AES Corp. power plant.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. Information: (714) 536-5582.
