LONG BEACH — A jury convicted a Long Beach man Monday of murdering his girlfriend in their home.
Harry Jolly, 56, a third-strike defendant, was convicted of first-degree murder for the strangulation of Anna Maria Schlecht, 36.
Schlecht was killed on June 19, 1999. Before her death, police had responded to calls of domestic violence at the couple’s home three times within four months, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Valerie Barreiro.
Jolly is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 8.
