GARDEN GROVE
Planning commissioners voted unanimously to approve a plan to operate a recreation vehicle storage business on the north side of Chapman Avenue, between Western Avenue and Santa Rosalia Street. The property is zoned as open space.
A plan to construct and operate a gas station at 13002 Chapman Ave., which is a neighborhood commercial zone, was also unanimously approved last week.
Commissioners approved a plan to run a cosmetology school at 12471 Valley View St., with the condition that the school does not allow employees to smoke in the back of the building. The location is also in a neighborhood commercial zone.
A request to operate a bar at 13132 Garden Grove Blvd., which is zoned as a community commercial area, was approved 3 to 2. Commissioners Susan Barry and Ben Freze, who had concerns about the location, voted against the plan.
Commissioner Van Tran was absent from the meeting.
