In the Academy League:
North Hollywood Campbell Hall 48, Fairmont 14--J.D. Washington rushed 16 times for 201 yards and scored four touchdowns as Campbell Hall clinched a berth in the Southern Section Division XIII playoffs at Birmingham High.
Washington, the son of actor Denzel Washington, scored on runs of 21, 6, 7 and 52 yards.
Justin Harris ran for 75 yards on 14 carries to lead Fairmont (2-6, 0-3). He had a 35-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to cut Fairmont’s deficit to 7-6.
Fairmont’s second touchdown came early in the fourth quarter on a one-yard plunge by Jeff Nath. He finished the game with with 54 yards in 16 carries.
Quarterback Matt Gomez completed two of six passes for 28 yards, but had two passes intercepted.
Campbell Hall (5-3, 2-2) broke the game in the second quarter with three touchdown runs by Washington and Colin Thalken’s 40-yard return of a fumble.
