The Oak Park-Bishop Diego football game was postponed Friday after a Bishop Diego cheerleader was seriously injured in a fall during a homecoming rally at the Santa Barbara high school.
Lindsay Straub, 17, was listed in critical condition with head injuries at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said. She was breathing with the aid of a ventilator.
Straub was injured when she fell through a skylight into a bathroom in the Bishop Diego gym while she was either raising or taking down a homecoming banner from the roof, said Capt. Jeff McCune of the Santa Barbara Fire Department. McCune said she fell approximately 10 to 12 feet.
McCune said paramedics found Straub unconscious on the tiled floor of the bathroom and she remained unresponsive while she was taken to the hospital.
The football game, which had been scheduled for Friday night at Santa Barbara City College, has not been rescheduled.
Oak Park, which could have clinched second place in the Tri-Valley League with a victory, concludes the regular season with a league game Thursday night at Fillmore.
