Designer Shoes Just a Short Hike Away

Not long ago I wrote about a terrific source for women’s shoes in Tustin, but now that trip to Orange County won’t be necessary. We have a new spot for quality shoes in Northridge, where the deals are excellent.

Open only a month, DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) has already been touted by several readers. It’s not just women’s shoes; about 30% of the store’s inventory is for men. Names such as Kenneth Cole, Florsheim, Bass, Tolo, Cable & Co., Rockport, Bruno Magli and Bacco Bucci should get the attention of the gentlemen readers, and certainly when they learn the prices vary from 30% to 50% off retail. Sizes run from 11 1/2 to 14.

For women, the designers run the gamut from Nine West to Cole Haan or Rampage to Etienne Aigner, and the price reduction is the same as for men’s shoes . . . 30% to 50% below most stores. Sizes run from 4 1/2 to 9 with a good supply of narrow widths.

You’ll find some terrific deals on boots for both men and women. Some women’s boots from Diva that retail for $109 are tagged here at $59. For men, some leather Calvin Klein dress boots that retail for $195 are moving fast at $99.50. Most of the merchandise is from last season, but there are some styles that are current and everything is first quality.

This is a large store, but the ambience is far better than most warehouse operations, and there are clerks on the floor to help you in your search.

DSW became a part of the quality bargain shoe scene in March in San Francisco and is opening its second Southern California operation Saturday in West Covina.
