$25,000 Offered in Homeless Man’s Beating Death in July

SUN VALLEY — The Los Angeles City Council is offering a $25,000 reward for information in the July beating death of a homeless man in Sun Valley.
The reward is for information leading to the conviction of those responsible for the man’s death.
The body of Ruben Mejia, 41, was found July 29 in the 8400 block of San Fernando Road. Mejia, who had been left mentally incapacitated by an earlier auto accident, was known to be living in the industrial area where his body was found, said Det. Mike Coffey of the department’s North Hollywood Division.
“We have absolutely no idea what happened,” Coffey said. “No clues. No witnesses. Nothing.”
