A San Clemente High School music teacher has received an award from the Orange County Music and Arts Administrators for his work both in teaching music and coordinating student ensembles.
Andrew Magana, who has been teaching high school music since 1986, was named Outstanding Arts Educator of the Year in Instrumental Music. Magana is the chairman for the fine and performing arts department at the high school.
He teaches marching band, jazz ensemble, wind ensemble, concert band, orchestra, musical theater orchestra and advanced placement music, and also serves as the advisor for the drum line and color guard.
