Fallen veterans will be honored at Newport Harbor High School at 11:30 a.m. Friday. World War II and Vietnam veterans who attended Newport Harbor will have a plaque dedicated in their honor. The ceremony will take place at a previously unused flag pole in front of the school. The Newport Beach American Legion Post has donated a new U.S. flag to be flown there. Michael Mangan, who graduated from Newport Harbor in 1963, will be honored as the most highly decorated officer from Orange County who served in Vietnam, said Newport Beach historian George Grupe.
