The Newport-Mesa Unified School District Board of Education on Tuesday night honored Harbor View, Kaiser, Killybrooke and Victoria elementary schools for being named California Distinguished Schools.
Representatives from the four schools last week received plaques, commendations and flags from the state Department of Education. On Monday morning, Kaiser Elementary in Costa Mesa held a special ceremony and raised a Distinguished School flag for the first time.
