Athletic Director to Step Down

Keith Calkins, the athletic director at Saddleback College, will retire at the end of the spring semester in two weeks, he said Wednesday.
“I’m not retiring from the college, I’m just stepping down,” said Calkins, who has been athletic director at the college for the last 20 seasons. “It’s time for someone else to do the job.”
VOLLEYBALL
Jenny Busch and Michelle Davis, members of the Laguna Beach Volleyball Club, have signed to play at four-year universities, their coach, Michael Soylular, said.
Busch, an outside hitter, will play at Chapman.
Davis, a 5-11 outside hitter from Santa Margarita, will play at Pitt.
BASKETBALL
Ben Rogers, a 6-foot-3 guard from Golden West College, has signed to play at Hope International in the fall, the Fullerton school announced. Rogers graduated from Fountain Valley High.
