Ask Jeeves to Take Charges

Ask Jeeves Inc., the online question-and-answer service, said it planned to take significant charges related to recent acquisitions starting in the first quarter. The company did not specify how large the charges would be in its annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Shares in Emeryville, Calif.-based Ask Jeeves dropped $3.50 to close at $65 on Nasdaq.
