Bootes Wins Monterey Mountain Bike Race
Australian mountain biker Wade Bootes, who lives in Huntington Beach, won the dual slalom at the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey Saturday.
Bootes defeated Laguna Beach’s Brian Lopez in the final. In the women’s dual slalom, Anne-Caroline Chausson of France beat Leigh Donovan of Capistrano Beach.
Lopes also finished second in the men’s downhill, and Donovan finished third in the women’s.
