Shuttle Passenger Injured in Crash

A passenger in a commuter van en route to Los Angeles International Airport was critically injured Tuesday morning when the van ran a stop sign and was struck by a pickup truck, authorities said.
Ann Louise Cohen, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where she was treated for a collapsed lung and internal injuries. She was listed in critical but stable condition.
The Roadrunner shuttle van with five passengers was traveling east on Alamo Street about 7:20 a.m. when the driver, 68-year-old Leo Landry of Newbury Park, failed to stop at a four-way stop and was hit by the Chevy truck, authorities said.
The van spun around and rolled onto the driver’s side. Landry was extricated by the Ventura County Fire Department, while the passengers were removed through the van’s back door.
The other passengers and Landry were treated for minor injuries and released.
The driver of the truck, Ken Poinsett, 35, of Simi Valley, was not injured, authorities said.
