It Goes From Bad to Worst
The Clippers dropped to a new low in a 19-point loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday. They set a franchise record for worst field-goal shooting in a game by making only 26.8% of their shots.
The mark was also a league low for the season and broke the Clippers’ previous mark of 29.3% set against the Lakers on Feb. 26, 1999.
“We had a lot of open shots but we just couldn’t knock them down,†guard Eric Piatkowski said.
After playing nine games in 14 days, including seven on the road, the Clippers took Tuesday off. Piatkowski said some of the players may be fatigued.
“Our starters are all playing almost 40 minutes a game and they might be tired,†Piatkowski said. “We just came off a long trip and had two home games right away.â€

A look at how bad the Clippers have been.
* They have won only three times since Dec. 26, a span of 31 games. They have lost 19 consecutive road games and have not won away from Staples Center since they defeated Golden State on Dec. 22.
* The Clippers are last in the league in point differential at minus 12 a game. In losing 46 of 58 games, they have been defeated by more than 20 points 15 times. Seven times, they have lost by 25 or more.
* They are last in the league in assists and next to last in scoring and rebounding. And they lead the league in disqualifications, led by rookie Lamar Odom with nine.

If Odom is not sidelined because of his sore right shoulder, look for him to continue to play point guard. Interim Coach Jim Todd has liked what he has seen of Odom at the point.
“I think he may have a brilliant career at point guard. . . . We are looking for somebody to run the point,†Todd said. “Is he a pure point guard? I don’t know . . . but he sure causes a lot of matchup problems.â€
