SCPGA’s Expo This Weekend at Fairplex
The Southern California PGA’s 11th Golf Expo takes place Friday through Sunday at the Fairplex in Pomona.
More than 100 companies will be on hand with reduced prices on equipment and apparel. Other highlights include free instruction from PGA professionals, a free custom fitted club for junior golfers age 17 and under and an interactive full-swing golf simulator with hourly closest-to-the-pin competitions.
There is a junior golf world devoted to companies catering to the needs of younger players.
Hours for the show are 2-8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors (50 and over) and $4 for juniors (11-17). Children under 10 get in free.

The Southern California PGA Foundation is hosting an NCAA seminar designed for college-bound golfers Saturday at the Toshiba Senior Classic.
Scheduled to speak on the rules, regulations and requirements of playing golf at the NCAA level are: Keith Shackleford, Director of Compliance for UC Irvine; Kurt Schuette, director of golf at UCLA; Sue Ewart, women’s golf coach at Long Beach State; W. Paul Donovan, father of an NCAA golfer; and Travis Johnson, UCLA freshman golfer.
Admission to the 2 1/2-hour session is $29 for a two-person package and $40 for a three-person package. The price includes the seminar, tickets to the Toshiba Senior Classic, parking and a $5 food voucher.
