DANA POINT
South Coast Water District’s board of supervisors will discuss the agency’s impending takeover of Tri-Cities Municipal Water District at Thursday’s meeting.
Tri-Cities is a broker that buys water from the Coastal Municipal Water District, a regional wholesaler, and sells to smaller agencies, including South Coast.
The consolidation will take place March 31 in a move that South Coast officials hope will reduce costs by eliminating the need for a middleman, said Michael Dunbar, general manager.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at 31592 West St., Laguna Beach.
