Kurt Bourne of the Stanton Police Services division of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department has been named Deputy of the Year.
Police spokesman Lt. Greg Russell said that Bourne received a medal of courage in 1999 for his search for victims in a burning home and had done an all-around excellent job.
