SAN CLEMENTE
The City Council has filled three of four spots on the Planning Commission. At a hearing Tuesday night, the council reappointed incumbent commissioners Dennis Papilion and E. Dorothy Prohaska, and appointed new member Michael Kaupp, all to two-year terms.
The fourth spot, which opened up with the resignation of Frank Montesinos, is still open because the council split 2-2 on whom to select. Nominees are incumbent Carol Bonner and newcomer Oakley Van Slyke.
Councilman Jim Dahl was not present at Tuesday’s hearing, leaving the council with an even number of members present.
The council plans to decide between Bonner and Van Slyke at the July 5 council meeting.
The council selected the three appointments and the two finalists for the fourth spot from a field of 12 candidates.
