PLACENTIA
David Verdugo, the Placentia-Yorba Linda school district’s former director of secondary programs, will take over the new position of executive director for strategic planning and accountability, officials announced Friday.
In his new post, Verdugo will oversee the district’s new plans and design a way to measure the success of their implementation.
“The position will report directly to me,†said Supt. Dennis M. Smith, who replaced James O. Fleming on July 1. “It’s of vital importance to be accountable when in education.â€
A group of parents in March cited accountability as one of the top qualities to be sought in a new superintendent.
