Glendale Galleria has opened a $2.5-million youth-oriented shopping area on the second floor of the mall dubbed the Zone.
The area features six retailers new to the mall: No Fear, Van’s, Juxtapose, Boarders, Premium, and Catwalk. It includes a lounge area where kids can congregate under large overhead video screens.
The Zone’s new retailers will complement existing youth-oriented stores in the area, including Hot Topic and Planet X.
The Galleria said market research indicates shoppers in the 8-to-18 age bracket spend nearly $3,000 per year per capita at the Galleria and visit the mall 54 times a year.
