Chaminade 12-22, Canyon 0-6--Erik Johnson hit two home runs and finished with four hits and five RBIs in the second game to help Chaminade (23-1) win the District 20 Division II championship at Chatsworth High.
Johnson hit a grand slam in Chaminade’s nine-run first inning and a solo shot in a six-run fourth. The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
In the first game, Chaminade scored 11 runs and had nine hits, including two by D.J. Milonas, in the first inning. Bobby Paschal (7-0) threw a one-hitter with three strikeouts and one walk.
Crespi 7, Cleveland 3--Mando Contreras had three hits and three RBIs, and Garett Tabarez had two hits and two RBIs for Crespi (16-7) in a second-round game of the Palomino section tournament at the Hart PONY Complex in Santa Clarita.
Crespi plays Valencia, a 6-5 winner over Hart, in a semifinal today at the Hart PONY Complex.
