Applause for Metrano
Kudos to Brian Lowry for his piece on one of the funniest men who should be back in show business, Art Metrano (“Comedy With Courage,” July 12). One of the best times I ever experienced at a Dodgers game was watching Metrano take over the stands as a “vendor,” hawking wares and peanuts.
I also can appreciate Metrano’s courage in light of now being disabled, vying for visibility in a craft that he has excelled at. After being chronically ill for several years now, I would appreciate not only seeing him work once again, but would find a positive image portrayed for many of us who are not as “able bodied” as the film industry thinks that everyone should be.
