Center Receives $71,511 State Grant
The Child and Family Guidance Center, a nonprofit mental health center, recently received a $71,511 grant to boost enrollment in state-run health insurance programs for low-income families.
The award is among 68 grants awarded by the state to community-based health-care providers. The purpose is to increase participation in Healthy Families Insurance and Medi-Cal, said Lori Kent, a spokeswoman for the center.
More low-income families are now eligible for the insurance programs because of changes in income guidelines and deductions, Kent said. The center provides mental health treatment and related services covered by the insurance programs.
For information, call Hugo Ramirez at (818) 882-3147 or visit the center at 19100 Parthenia St.
