City Councilman Gil Jones resigned Tuesday--with two years remaining on his current term--much to the surprise of many at City Hall. Jones submitted a letter of resignation to the mayor’s office in which he cited family and personal business reasons for his sudden decision.
“My intentions are to put my energy into promoting my business and to spend more time with my family,†Jones states in the letter.
Jones and his wife, Millie, run the Jones Family Mini Farm at the old Olivares house, a city historic landmark, on Los Rios street.
