Michael Hess, Scott Greenwald Get New Posts at Westec Security

* Michael O. Hess has joined Westec Interactive Security in Newport Beach as vice president of sales, and Scott Greenwald has been named channel marketing manager. Hess was most recently with Sensormatic Inc. in Boca Raton, Fla., where he was national director of sales for the food market division. He also held senior sales positions at Cevaxs Corp. in Vancouver, Securite Foods in Montreal and Philip Morris in New York. Greenwald formerly held store design and management positions with Retail Improvement Group in Irvine, 76 Products Co. in Costa Mesa and the Southland Corp. in Brea.

* Dan A. Petrescu has been named vice president and general manager of the fiber optics and photonics division of Newport Corp. in Irvine. Prior to joining the company, Petrescu was director of manufacturing operations and carrier solutions for Nortel Networks Inc. in Quebec. Mark V. Edwards has been selected as vice president and general manager of the vision metrology division. Edwards was formerly director of the controls, measurement and sensing division of Giddings & Lewis in Wisconsin. Also, Robert Hewitt, vice president and chief financial officer, announced plans to retire later this year.
