Tucker, Guthrie Push Sea Kings Past Brea

Melinda Tucker scored four goals and Lauren Guthrie had three to help Corona del Mar defeat host Brea Olinda, 11-4, in the first round of the Southern Section Division IV girls’ water polo playoffs Saturday.
Freshman Christina Hewko had two goals and nine steals for Corona del Mar (18-11), the Pacific Coast League co-champion. The Sea Kings advanced to play third-seeded Rosary in the quarterfinals.
Jenny Nelson scored two goals for Orange League champion Brea (15-12).
In other Division IV games:
Rosary 10, Troy 0--Natalie Golda and Meghan Monahan each scored three goals for Rosary (19-9).
Santa Margarita 7, Redondo Union 2--Jamie Kroeze scored three goals for top-seeded Santa Margarita (21-6), which will play Laguna Beach.
Laguna Beach 10, Sonora 5--Teresa Codini scored four goals and Laura Case scored three for visiting Laguna Beach (19-9), which held Sonora’s leading scorer, Laura McNabb, to one goal. Juli Hinz scored two goals for Sonora (16-5).
El Dorado 9, Buena Park 3--Jessica Taylor scored four goals for host El Dorado (15-10), the second-seeded team. The Golden Hawks advanced to play Santa Monica, an 11-5 winner over Tustin.
University 15, Westminster 6--Sam Klau had three goals and led a tough defense for University (13-12), which built a 10-3 halftime lead. Fourth-seeded University advanced to play Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Westminster finished 11-16.
