Attorneys Group Endorses Long

A group representing the county’s deputy prosecutors, public defenders and court attorneys has endorsed the reelection bid of Supervisor Kathy Long, officials said Tuesday.
Long gets the backing of 170 lawyers in the Criminal Justice Attorneys’ Assn. because she has proven herself to be a person of integrity, President Maeve Fox said.
“From our numerous contacts with her during her first term, we learned that while she does not always agree with our position, she can be counted on to keep her word,” Fox said in a prepared statement.
Long faces Camarillo Councilman Mike Morgan and businessman Jim Shinn in the March 7 primary.
Long also has been endorsed by Sheriff Bob Brooks and Dist. Atty. Michael D. Bradbury.
If no one wins a majority in the primary, the top two vote-getters will face each other in a November runoff.
District 3 covers Camarillo, Santa Paula, Fillmore, Piru, La Conchita and portions of Ojai.
