Gonzaga 101, Loyola Marymount 77--Richie Frahm scored 22 points and had a career-high nine assists as the Bulldogs won their 11th consecutive game with a victory over the struggling Lions at Gersten Pavilion.
The Bulldogs (19-5, 9-0 WCC) tallied their highest point total in a road game since defeating Eastern Washington, 108-67, in December 1990.
Gonzaga, which has defeated the Lions 10 consecutive times, has won 13 of 14 games. Loyola Marymount (2-20, 0-9) is off to its worst conference start in school history.
Six Bulldogs scored in double figures with forward Casey Calvary and center Axel Dench making all six of their field goal attempts. Gonzaga, which made 14 of its first 15 shots in the second half, shot 65.5% from the field.
The Lions were led by freshman guard Stanley Thorne’s career-high 22 points. Forward Elton Mashack added 21 points and nine rebounds.
WOMEN
No. 12 UC Santa Barbara 69, Pacific 59--Kristi Rohr scored 20 points and had 12 rebounds as the Gauchos extended their winning streak to 16 by defeating the Tigers at Stockton.
Stacy Clinesmith added 13 points and Erin Buescher 12 for the Gauchos (20-3, 8-0 Big West), winners of at least 20 games for the fifth consecutive season. Selena Ho’s 19 points led Pacific (12-8, 3-5).
No. 18 Old Dominion 85, North Carolina Wilmington 55--Lucienne Berthieu had 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Lady Monarchs extended their Colonial Athletic Assn. winning streak to 93 with a victory at Norfolk, Va.
Berthieu scored 14 points in the first half as the Lady Monarchs (17-4, 10-0 CAA) took a 48-25 lead. The Seahawks (13-8, 6-4) committed 20 of their 33 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.
No. 14 Duke 83, Georgia Tech 51--Georgia Schweitzer and Krista Gingrich each scored 21 points to lead the Blue Demons to a victory over the Yellow Jackets at Durham, N.C.
Schweitzer scored 15 points in a 27-4 run early in the second half that turned a four-point game into a blowout. Georgia Tech (12-10, 5-7 Atlantic Coast) went more than nine minutes without a field goal, while the Blue Devils (19-4, 8-3) made 10 of 19 shots and opened a 62-35 lead.
