Chapman Blitzes La Sierra, 105-60
Nate Strange scored a career-high 29 points and Tim Werdel had 22 points, including six three-pointers, to help Chapman defeat La Sierra, 105-60, in men’s basketball Wednesday at Chapman.
Mike Gartner added 18 points for Chapman (18-5), which shot 61% from the field, scored the first 24 points and won its 10th consecutive game. La Sierra is 7-18.
In nonconference baseball:
Concordia 9, Cal State Stanislaus 5--Jeff Curcio hit two home runs and had five RBIs and Rick Stockton gave up three runs and four hits in eight innings for host Concordia (4-6). Brent Miller hit two home runs for Stanislaus (1-2).
In exhibition baseball:
Cal State Fullerton 8, Kyunghee University (South Korea) 0--Chris Stringfellow hit two home runs for the host Titans, ranked fifth in the nation. Fullerton plays No. 10 Baylor in its home opener Friday.
