* Paul F. Maurin has been named to the new position of chief operating officer at Timely Industries, the Pacoima company said. Maurin will oversee operations and report to Robert H. Day, president and chief executive. Maurin had been vice president of operations with Moen Inc.
Timely manufactures prefinished steel door frames.
* Dave Beanes has been appointed vice president of production services for Universal Studios Operations Group in Universal City. The company said Beanes will oversee all production support, including back lot operations, stage management, set lighting and relations with third-party production. Beanes had been vice president of production for Universal Television and Studios USA Television.
* Dole Food Co. of Westlake Village announced three executive staff changes. Peter M. Nolan has been promoted president of Dole North America Operations. He will be responsible for several divisions, including fresh vegetables, citrus, fresh flowers and packaged foods. Nolan had served as president of Dole Packaged Foods since 1995.
Lawrence A. Kern returns to Dole as president of Dole Fresh Vegetable Co. He will manage the operations of several divisions, including fresh vegetables and citrus and will report directly to Nolan.
Michael J. Cavallero, vice president of sales and marketing for Dole Fresh Fruit Co. of North America, will assume the management of Dole Hawaii, Dole subsidiary Cool Care, and other operations, including North American port operations.
* Peter Jardine has been named chief technologist of DCH Technology Inc., the company announced. He will manage the Valencia company’s applied-research portfolio and will apply innovations to DCH products. Jardine had been senior technical specialist with the Military Aircraft Systems Division of Northrop Grumman Corp.
DCH develops and produces hydrogen sensors and related products.
* Alan S. Unger has been appointed vice president of finance, treasurer and chief financial officer of Glendale-based IHOP Corp., the company said. Unger had been chief financial officer and vice president of mergers and acquisitions of Four Media Co. Unger, a certified public accountant, replaces Gene A. Scott, who left to pursue other opportunities, the company said.
IHOP develops, franchises and operates the International House of Pancakes restaurant chain.
* Lylle Breier has been promoted to senior vice president of special events for Walt Disney Studios, the company said. She will be responsible for creating and overseeing promotional events worldwide. Breier has served for the last four years as vice president of special events for Buena Vista Pictures Division.
* Fred H. Deindoerfer, founding chairman and longtime chief executive of International Remote Imaging Systems of Chatsworth, has retired from the board of directors, the company announced. He will continue to serve the company as a special consultant.
The company manufactures and markets in vitro diagnostic imaging systems.
* Harry Dolman has been promoted to senior vice president of global category development at Disney Consumer Products of Burbank, the company announced. He will develop product strategies in a variety of categories, including food and home furnishings. He also will manage licensee relationships among other duties.
Dolman had been vice president of merchandise for Disney Consumer Products for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
* James R. McCullough, recently named chief executive of Coyote Network Systems, has been elected to the board of directors and relinquished his 25% interest in First Venture Leasing LLC, the company said.
The company provides telecom switching equipment, network carrier services and applications.
