Free-Throw Shooting Is a Real Downer for Gadzuric
- Share via
Center Dan Gadzuric has made only 30.8% of his free throws in the nine Pac-10 games and is at 42.1% overall, poor numbers even for a player who has always been weak in that area.
“It’s kind of frustrating,” he said. “This is probably my worst year for me with free throws. I just need to work on it more. Right now, I’m trying to find my perfect rhythm, my perfect form. Right now, I’m shooting it a different way a lot of the times.”
Gadzuric shot only 50% last season as a freshman, including 40.7% in Pac-10 play. But he is not concerned that the drop in percentage this season will have teams intentionally put him at the free-throw line, a la Shaquille O’Neal.
“I hope they foul me,” Gadzuric said. “That gives me the chance to shoot more free throws and get more comfortable with that.”
