Two Connecticut Players Suspended

Tony Robertson and Doug Wrenn, freshman reserves with the Connecticut basketball team, were suspended indefinitely for unspecified violations of team rules.

Robertson and Wrenn didn’t travel to East Lansing, Mich., where the seventh-ranked Huskies play No. 8 Michigan State today.

Robertson, a guard, is averaging 18 minutes and seven points a game and Wrenn, a forward, is averaging seven minutes and three points a game.

Jamal Crawford, a freshman who leads Michigan in scoring at 16.6 points per game, must sit out five more games after the NCAA found that his living arrangements while in high school violated rules governing amateurism. Crawford can practice with the team and attend classes, but will be unable to play until Feb. 24, when the Wolverines take on Purdue. . . . Kentucky 6-foot-11 forward Jules Camara will miss two to four weeks because of a foot injury, Coach Tubby Smith said.
