It Could be High Scoring
Colorado State can be forgiven if holding on to the ball seems to be its top priority.
The No. 23 Rams (9-2) won the Mountain West Conference despite an average of two turnovers. That tendency could be a problem if it persists today against No. 22 Louisville (9-2) in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn.
Louisville has shown an ability to strip opponents of the ball. The Cardinals have forced 38 turnovers, better than every Division I-A team but Florida.
“That will be critical,†Colorado State Coach Sonny Lubick said. “Turnovers change the course of a ball game.â€
The game could also develop into a high-scoring affair.
Louisville had the top scoring offense in Conference USA, averaging 35.3 points. Colorado State averaged 31 points.
