Wind Aids Cleanup of Oil on Mississippi

Cleanup crews mopping up a 567,000-gallon oil spill, the largest on the Mississippi River in a decade, said a favorable wind was keeping the oil out of sensitive wildlife areas. More than 30,000 feet of containment booms had been set out to prevent the oil, spilled Tuesday when a tanker ran aground near New Orleans, from spreading, Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Charles Culotta said. The spill forced a temporary shutdown of shipping.
