Advocate for Property Owners Is Appointed
Linda Aquaro, a longtime investigator for the Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office, has been appointed the county’s first property owners advocate. The post was established in June to help homeowners and small business owners resolve problems with their property tax bills and other property-related issues.
Aquaro, a 13-year veteran of the county assessor’s office, is available to help property owners in need of special assistance with property tax exemptions, disputes about assessed penalties and processing forms.
As a liaison for the departments of auditor-controller, tax collector and assessor, Aquaro is able to expedite requests for help on complicated or unusual property tax issues.
“I want to improve our department’s public relations,†Aquaro said. “We want to make it more convenient for the public.â€
Aquaro can be reached at (213) 974-3101.
