The City Council has approved the purchase of a lot in the Town Center development that could be the site of a future City Hall.
City staff reached an agreement with K&G; Equities to buy just under 2 acres of land at El Paseo and El Portal for $1.1 million.
The land is next to city-owned property where the future Intergenerational Community Center is to be built.
The council bought the lot with the plan to construct a new City Hall there.
City Manager William Talley told the council at a recent meeting this was probably the best opportunity the city will have to purchase land that could be used to build a City Hall.
