After Return From Injury, Astros’ Alou Is Back on DL
The Houston Astros placed outfielder Moises Alou on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right calf Saturday.
Alou, batting .390 in 14 games with four home runs and 11 runs batted in, left the Astros’ game against the Chicago Cubs on April 26 after re-injuring himself.
He originally injured himself on April 14 at San Diego and missed five games. The move is retroactive to April 27.
Alou missed the 1999 season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The Milwaukee Brewers cut struggling pitcher Jamie Navarro, designating him for minor league assignment. Navarro was 0-5 with a 12.54 earned-run average this season and likely will be released, despite his $5-million contract, if he refuses.
