Katie Carpenter became the first Cal Lutheran woman to be named Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference basketball player of the year after leading the Regals to the league title.
Carpenter, a junior, averaged 13.8 points and 7.6 rebounds during SCIAC play. The Regals (19-7, 11-1) advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III West Regional.
