Go2Net Hires CFO

Go2Net Inc., which runs an Internet directory, said it hired former Microsoft Corp. executive Rick Thompson as chief financial officer. Thompson, who was with Microsoft for more than 12 years, most recently directed the software giant’s efforts to enter the video game console market with the X-Box, which is scheduled to be introduced next year. Go2Net Chief Executive Russell Horowitz had been handling financial duties for the Seattle-based company, which is backed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
