Casey Wasserman

* The 25-year-old grandson of former MCA/Universal chief Lew Wasserman is owner of the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League. The team’s first home game is tonight at Staples Center.

Friendly Confines: Whether it’s Friday or Saturday night, I go weekly to Dan Tana’s in West Hollywood. I’ve been going there my whole life, so it’s one of those neighborhood places where you know all the waiters. And it’s one of the few places in town that actually serves food late, so it’s a fun place to go. There’s no such thing as a dead night at Dan Tana’s.

Quality Time: Every Saturday and Sunday I go to breakfast with my [87-year-old] grandfather at Nate ‘n’ Al’s in Beverly Hills. We’ve been doing that as long as I’ve been alive. It’s a great opportunity to really just kind of talk about nothing in particular but everything--and soak up information. Clearly, experience is a valuable asset, and he’s got an amazing wealth of experience--and wonderful stories and history behind it. To be able to kind of aimlessly wander through those things each weekend morning is wonderful. No phones, no people, no pressure.

Sports Nut: If there’s a sporting event on a Saturday, whether it be at Staples Center or UCLA basketball or a Dodger game, I’ll probably be there. We’ve had the same Dodger seats and UCLA basketball seats since those buildings were open.

Rock on: Because my girlfriend [Laura Ziffren, in-house music supervisor for Fox films] is in the music business, she’ll drag me to shows here and there. I love music, but I wouldn’t go as often as she does. But if we’re out on the weekend, I’ll go. It’s great to see what people are doing on the weekends. I mean, as someone who is trying to get people to come to a sporting event on the weekend, I like to see how people like to spend their time and their disposable income.
