ANAHEIM
Police have arrested three suspects and are investigating a fourth on suspicion of committing a string of 33 robberies that occurred around City Hall from Feb. 28 through March 28. Police said the suspects were targeting detachable car stereos and other loose items in cars, but operating independently. The burglars recognized that many people detach the stereos’ face plates, but simply leave them hidden in the car, said Sgt. Joe Vargas.
Police arrested Nicholas Behney, 19, when an officer stopped him for a traffic violation and found several allegedly stolen credit cards in his wallet. Edward Herrera, 26, was arrested while allegedly attempting a burglary. Daniel Mendoza, 29, was arrested for a parole violation and allegedly found in possession of property taken from the burglaries.
