In another Sea View League game:
Woodbridge 3, Aliso Niguel 2--Brianna Cooley and freshman pitcher Brittany Crouch (12-5) had run-scoring singles in the fifth inning for the host Warriors (13-7, 2-1). Aliso Niguel is 12-5-1, 2-1.
In the Academy League:
St. Margaret’s 10, Connelly 0 (5, mercy)--Monique Kettler pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and Brooke Birtcher had three hits, three RBIs and scored two runs for host St. Margaret’s (7-5, 4-2).
In the Serra League:
No. 1 Mater Dei 2, Santa Margarita 0--Jessica Young drove in Sheila McCorkle and Christina Clark in the first inning for host Mater Dei (22-1, 2-1). Tia Bollinger (22-1) pitched a two-hitter.
In nonleague softball:
Rosary 2-4, No. 4 Loara 1-1--Kelly Schaffer had two hits and two RBIs to lead the visiting Royals in the second game.
In the first game, Natalie Golda hit a two-run home run in the second inning to lift Rosary. Mallory Anderson pitched a two-hitter for the Royals (15-5). Loara is 15-4.
In the first round of the Michelle Carew tournament:
Chino Hills Ayala 1, Orange Lutheran 0--Shona Guevera struck out 10 and scored the winning run on a fielder’s choice for host Ayala.
Laura Miklos pitched a five-hitter with nine strikeouts and Kimmy Miklos had two hits for Orange Lutheran (15-4-1).
El Dorado 5, Huntington Beach 1--Cheryl Hagen and Adina Taul each drove in two runs and sophomore Kristan Karanzias (10-3-1) pitched a two-hitter for the Golden Hawks (10-5-1).
Los Alamitos 10, Orange 0 (5, mercy)--Emily Soltz pitched a no-hitter and had a two-run home run for Los Alamitos (11-5).
Esperanza 4, Ocean View 1--Melissa Fox hit a two-run triple in the bottom of the third for Esperanza (13-4).
