Kennedy 14, Van Nuys 3--Juan Sepulveda hit a three-run homer and Phil Avlas added a solo shot in the third for the Golden Cougars (11-7, 6-2) in a Valley Mission League game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule at Kennedy.
Kennedy (11-7, 6-2) pulled into a first-place tie with San Fernando, which lost to Sylmar.
Avlas finished with three hits and two runs batted in, and Sepulveda added two hits and three RBIs.
Tim St. Pierre (4-0) gave up three earned runs, struck out two and walked none in a five-hitter.
Chatsworth 13, Taft 0--Danny Dominguez collected three doubles, including a run-scoring hit during a 10-run second inning for the Chancellors (13-1-1, 8-0) in a West Valley League game called after five innings at Taft.
Sylmar 3, San Fernando 1--Eddie Camacho pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts and hit a two-run triple for the Spartans (9-6, 5-3) in a Valley Mission League victory at San Fernando.
Jordan Plasencia had two hits, including a double, and scored for San Fernando (8-7, 6-2).
Monroe 17, Reseda 1--Vince Madelon had three hits for the Vikings (7-12, 4-4) in a Valley Mission League victory at Reseda (2-9, 0-8).
Faith Baptist 16, Ribet Academy 0--Fernando Velasquez pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts for the Contenders in a Heritage League victory at Faith Baptist.
Velasquez hit a two-run home run and scored three times as Faith Baptist (10-1, 6-0) capitalized on 12 walks and five batters hit by a pitch.
